"In the youth game, development is the linchpin.  For young players, their time playing and training must be fun or possess fun elements, for a soccer environment without fun makes no sense to young players who are eager to learn and improve.  Most young players already dream of playing at higher levels.  This dream may take the form of moving to a higher level or playing on a high school, college or professional team, so the motivation to learn and progress is already present.  With development oriented training and coaching, young players will learn ball mastery and positional play.  Arranging these elements of the beautiful game into harmony creates a performance environment geared for development."

Coach Sharp was born in Charlotte, NC, but grew up in a small town, at least at that time it was small.  Knoxville, Tennessee had no competitive teams, so he began playing at age 5 in the only available soccer avenue, Knoxville Youth Soccer Organization.  Later, he played high school at Christian Academy of Knoxville where he also began his coaching career under the man who coached him. After high school, Coach Sharp continued to play at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. After a short absence from the beautiful game to attend graduate school, Coach Sharp moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and began coaching at Tulsa Soccer Club.  In Tulsa, he met his wife, a Bartlesville native, and shortly after their union, two plus two equaled four; they had identical twin boys. Throughout everything, Coach Sharp taught composition and mathematics at TCC, TU and Sequoyah High School.
